Caffè Sorrento is the result of over 50 years of family tradition.
In 1969, my grandparents and dad opened Sorrento’s Pizzeria in Lincoln, Illinois as a family after immigrating from Sicily. They brought with them their traditions, customs, and recipes. I grew up working at Sorrento’s my entire life and was immersed in a culture that lived for good food, traditional recipes, and amazing ingredients. My Nonna never wrote down recipes - she just knew how to throw things together!
My grandparents and dad have all passed away, but Sorrento’s Pizzeria remains open in Illinois and is run by my mom and Stepdad (Lisa and Jim Drew).
In 2022, my wife Emma and I moved to Boise, Idaho with a spirit of adventure. We didn’t know anyone, but we brought with us our two mobile businesses: The Tony Cannoli Cart and Just BEE Acai. In serving the community, we introduced everyone to our authentic Sicilian cannoli that I learned to make after living in Italy. Emma and I have always bonded in the kitchen and love creating recipes from my childhood and Sicilian culture. We dreamed of opening a shop someday to share these recipes with people.
When the opportunity came to do just that in 2024, we knew we had to name it after Sorrento’s Pizzeria, in honor of my family’s legacy.
Caffè Sorrento is a tribute to over 50 years of family recipes and memories. We are continuing the family tradition, but in our own new way.
We invite you to an authentic Italian experience right here in Boise, Idaho.
